VirginFail [Oct. 2nd, 2009|07:52 am]

So Virgin Broadband was down for about twelve hours from shortly before midnight on the 29th through to lunchtime on the 30th. They've been up since.

Now, however, I can't get through to my office from here... although I can get through just fine from various other places on the Internet that I can reach easily.
    C:\Users\DougS>tracert -d 80.175.57.13

Tracing route to 80.175.57.13 over a maximum of 30 hops

      1 8 ms 1 ms 1 ms 172.20.51.1
      2 17 ms 11 ms 37 ms 10.159.60.1
      3 10 ms 11 ms 8 ms 62.253.121.205
4 213.105.175.33 reports: Destination net unreachable.

    Trace complete.

I'm just wondering whether other people are having the same trouble.

[EDIT (12:10): Now fixed. Routing borked between about half-five and about eleven this morning.]

Virgin didn't go down in The North, so far as I can tell.

Yes, it was a South and South-East Backbone failure from what I heard. I had immense problems getting through to Google, Wiki and other common sites for a few hours after it all happened but it seems to to have come back now. I assume that was DNS failures somehow. The whole service dropped out again last night as well but only briefly.
