Grace for a friend's wedding [Oct. 2nd, 2010|06:48 pm]
Douglas Spencer
I'm at a friend's wedding, where I was invited to say grace.

We're here not just to bless the meals that God and man provide,
We praise the love that God reveals through Bridegroom and through Bride.
God charges us to celebrate his love, which is for all,
So party down and stay up late in this, the Friendship Hall.
For Mel and Sarah -- lucky pair -- Good luck, for all that comes,
And thank the Lord for all his care, for food, for love, for Chums.

Good to see you again.

I'd no idea you were there until I heard this, from behind me. First I vaguely thought "I recognise that voice", then "No-one else could rhyme 'Chums' like that!" Sure enough...
