Amazing love ...

There are no records which imply that Charles Wesley had any difficulty similar to what I've been struggling with over the last 24 hours.

But he did have some struggles of his own, and they were resolved in a comforting, pleasing way.

He wrote these lines in 1739.
Long my imprisoned sprit lay,
fast bound in sin and nature's night;
thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
my chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.
