The end result is 22 lines of code. For one day's work.
But it does exactly what the client wants it to do. It runs with either version of either application on either version of Windows. I'll bet it works on XP/XP as well, although there aren't any machines on which to test it. And it's neat and clean and robust, and they want me back next time something similar needs to be done. Oh, and I'm feeling very very very smug.
I haven't touched a router or a firewall or a mail server all day, and the client still thinks I'm brilliant.
