I shouldn't be surprised ...

... but I am, every time it happens.

I wrote a sonnet this morning. It was about something entirely different, not connected to what I'm about to say at all. But when it was finished, when I re-read it, I discovered that I'd written a verse about Anne, a verse about Chris, a verse about Susan.

I shouldn't be surprised, but every time it happens, I am.

There isn't a mood "introspective" in the standard set.
