The Tao of Tea, the Chi of Coffee?

Clearing up the kitchen today in the vain search for spaghetti I discovered the last of the Christmas Coffee -- flavoured with chocolate and cinnamon. Of course, I fired up the machine and made about a pint-and-a-half of the stuff, and I've been sat here drinking it.
I've been told elsewhere that with joints like mine I should be drinking Green Tea, because it's good for my joints and my soul.
So, I'm seeking advice from alternate sources. Is coffee as bad for the joints as they say? Should I go for this "detox" that everyone talks about? Will a fortnight without caffeine have me leaping about like a mere thirty-five-year-old?
And what about my soul? Does eternal damnation await the coffee-drinker?
