SWCP: Porlock Weir to the County Gate

Well, we were going to go as far as Lynmouth Harbour ... but we were both totally tired out from going up and down big hills and climbing over tree stumps and land slips, so half-way we called it a day.
And since you ask, yes I did wear sun-block today, and my arms are much better, thanks. And my knee is behaving too, which is good.
Additionally I am now blessed with daveon's cold, so I'm going to fill myself up with Mother's ginger wine and go to bed.

Sometimes these poems keep you awake until you've written them.
The identities of the two people in this poem shouldn't be hard to guess.
