Domain names -- Five simple rules

I've been having a conversation with Boss B, who has been having conversations with our resident marketing guru.

I've come up with five simple rules:
  • If a domain name is too long, it's a shite domain name.

  • If, when you pronounce a domain name, it remains unclear how to spell it, it's a shite domain name.

  • If a domain name relies on having any punctuation besides the dots, it's a shite domain name.

  • If a domain name relies on having more than one non-top-level component, it's a shite domain name.

  • If a domain name doesn't work unless you get the capitalisation right, it's a shite domain name.

Examples of other rules welcome.

Examples of real live shite domain names also welcome.
