My favourite sentence ...

My favourite sentence on an LJ community information page reads as follows:

Some people aren't in the mood to be scared out of their sex drive by seeing graphic Mr. Prosser/bulldozer fic where they can't avoid it, so be polite and for the love of Christ on a cracker with icing and sprinkles, use a cut tag.

Okay, I've shown you mine, will you show me yours?

The World Cup

I'm given to understand that there's some sort of football tournament taking place at the moment.

Now, I'm quite ignorant of football. I understand that it involves a couple of dozen men with intact metatarsals chasing a small ball around a field, but that's about my limit. However, in an attempt to make the next few weeks pass more swiftly, I've signed up for a sweepstake and been awarded two teams for me to follow: the Republic of Ghana, in West Africa, and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean Sea.

Trinidad and Tobago are the smallest-population nation ever to qualify for the FIFA world cup. They've been adopted by the Scots as the team to support in this year's competition. Their footie team is called the Soca Warriors, and soca is one of scarlatti's favourite forms of music. So I have three particular reasons to feel pleased about having drawn this team.

Ghana are ... harder to get excited about. But I've made an icon for them too.
