Because Monday is going to be International Talk Like A Pirate Day, and further to a post in which peaceful_fox suggested some suitably piratical songs, I've written the following little song:

I was just a pirate bum,
Never knew my grog from rum,
And my boat, let's say it never had a keel,
But I flew the Roger Jolly
On my coracle, by golly,
Little vessel you made a pirate out of me.

I've been raidin' with my crew
Right across the ocean blue,
I've seen every sailing vessel on the sea,
But their turnin' circle's dire
When I catch 'em in my fire,
Gives piratical advantages to me.

Arrrrrrr... you gonna take me home tonight
Arrrrrrr... down behind the harbour light
Arrrrrrr... you gonna keep yourself afloat
Flat bottomed boats, you make the rockin' world go round.
