Top tip for today [Aug. 24th, 2006|12:07 pm]
Douglas Spencer
When you plug the USB cable into your PDA and nothing happens, before you reboot everything and then phone Douglas for help, try checking that the other end of the cable is actually plugged into your laptop.

Heh. Although I happen to know that with Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.2 that wouldn't necessarily help :)

Of course. But we do tend to find that it's a useful step.

Oooohhh very clever.

But what do you do if your work network is *several* years out of date and the one chance you had with your boss to get a proffessional in and just sort out EVERYTHING leaving no data unturned back fires because afore mentioned proffessional decides to miss several trains forcing his stay in London so you have to go and fix the problems we were using as an excuse to get the proffessional in ourselves?

Just some bloke I know who goes around telling people he's writing a book and makes free lance computer expert sound like something that doesn't involve laying in bed til midday and always being skint.
