Torchwood Ep 9 reaction... [Dec. 10th, 2006|11:03 pm]
Douglas Spencer
So they've evidently decided that every series of New Who or Torchwood is going to have a "lots of the cast have had a week off" episode, yes?

I think I'll call these ones "Christmas Shopping Episodes". At least no-one's face turned up embedded in a paving slab at the end.

That's a very good way of putting it. I quite liked the effect it had this episode though, although still too much Gwen if you ask me (which you didn't, but oh well).

I remember that Who episode! It was about the only one I really watched (Moaning Myrtle = ♥ XD).

I thought it was a good one, but then Gwen is my favourite character. The bit at the end when she stepped out in front of a speeding car felt really contrived though. And what has happened to her B/F? Did she dump him when I wasn't looking?

I've enjoyed the latest three episodes a heck of a lot more than the preceding half-dozen.

There wasn't a Christmas shopping episode in first series DW was there?

I rather liked last night's episode. I thought it was clever and worked well. But that could be just me.

I liked Love and Monsters when I first saw it, but it doesn't hold up quite so well to re-watching. And the face in the paving stone was just a bit too much (and from the way he picked it up at the end, he's either really been working out, or it's made of polystyrene).

There wasn't -- perhaps that's why Ecclestone quit.

Well, he didn't have much to do in "Rose" until the end, but that was possibly a deliberate echo of "An Unearthly Child".
