Lunar Eclipse picture [Mar. 3rd, 2007|11:25 pm]
Douglas Spencer
I've discovered the limits of my camera. It's just not capable of collecting enough light to give me a usable image at the moment.

This was from about an hour ago:

Lunar Eclipse, a few moments before totality, 2007/03/03 22:24 GMT

That's lovely, I was afraid I wouldn't get to see anything at all. It's cloudy in the east tonight. :(

Synchronicity. Somebody else on my FL posted the same thing a few minutes before you did.

That's nice. We kept nipping out the pub to look at it. I was amused at someone trying to take a flash photograph of it.

There was a downside to the Eclipse.

One of the sites on my server has masses of information on Eclipses. And the server load with 5 million people around the world trying to access that site caused a "slight" load problem. After 2 hours work last night I had rebalanced the server load from over 97% occupancy to about 40% at which point it was behaving. I was so busy I never got outside to look at the cause.
