I'm glad I don't work for South West Trains. [Mar. 28th, 2007|10:00 am]
Douglas Spencer
I arrived at the station this morning at about 07:20, expecting to get on a train to London at 07:32.

I got on a train at 09:46.

Evidently something strange had taken place because there were no trains. Not just no train service, not just no trains moving, but no trains in existence at all between Ascot and Reading.

Oh dear.

Sounds like a normal day commuting on SWT to me. There were "speed restrictions at Waterloo" this morning as well, but I was less than ten minutes late.

Gosh, this entirely passed me by. I had so much trouble getting to sleep last night (really bad headache which is only subsiding now) that I decided to get up a little later, have a proper breakfast and catch the 8:56 from Wokingham to Bracknell instead of my usual train (7:56). It turned up, I got on, no problem.

Which only goes to prove that all this 'getting up early and going to work' stuff is a sad mistake.
