Misadventures in my kitchen, number 383 in a continuing series
Picture the scene. I have the recipe all mapped out in my head. I have all sorts of things cooking in various places, including a pot on the stove containing mushrooms, garlic and other minor ingredients. I reach into the fridge to fetch forth the double cream I have purchased to accompany dessert, in order to drop a couple of spoonsful into the mushroom pan.
It seems I'd bought custard instead of double cream.
