Misadventures in my kitchen, number 383 in a continuing series [Apr. 15th, 2007|04:38 pm]

Picture the scene. I have the recipe all mapped out in my head. I have all sorts of things cooking in various places, including a pot on the stove containing mushrooms, garlic and other minor ingredients. I reach into the fridge to fetch forth the double cream I have purchased to accompany dessert, in order to drop a couple of spoonsful into the mushroom pan.

Ah.

It seems I'd bought custard instead of double cream.

Garlic mushrooms in vanilla custard. Mmmm.

Mmmm.

Custard goes very well on roast potatoes, by the way.

Why not? I've eaten sea bass with vanilla custard, they called it a scented sabayon, but it was the same thing. Yummy, too.

I'm actually tempted by that.

Should we be worried?
