Home again [Apr. 24th, 2007|10:58 pm]
Douglas Spencer
I'm back from Mother's, and I'm off to bed any second.

Anything important I may have missed since last Friday or so, let me know...

In other news, I suspect I may have acquired an intolerance to mustard. Mother produced gammon in a honey-and-mustard thing which was quite mustardy, and I've been suffering since. I shall experiment over the next few days and see if I can pin down exactly what's going on. Also my right knee and right heel (not ankle, unusually) have been quite painful for the last couple of weeks, although I can't find a specific cause. It's lasted longer than would be consistent with the post-Eastercon lurgy with which some people have associated joint pain. Hmmm.

I don't think it's the G-word because over the preceding few days I'd eaten bacon, black pudding, sausages, cheese, chocolate, all sorts of inappropriate things, and have had no trouble at all.

Words like "bloaty" fit well, but not "painy" or "sicky".

Ah. I used to find that black pudding gave me diarrhoea but not indigestion, and I only found that cheese and chocolate were a trigger way into the problem. The first things I remember making me really ill were gammon and chips, coca cola and kashmiri butter chicken.
