Is there something in the water at the moment? [Jul. 3rd, 2008|05:30 pm]
Douglas Spencer
Two weeks ago, at Client F:
"We're about to acquire another business, a one-man-band who is about to retire, and we want some advice on getting his systems integrated with ours."

Today, at Client B:
"We're about to acquire another business, a one-woman-band who is about to retire, and we want some advice on getting her systems integrated with ours."

It'd be a really good joke if the first one was "and we'd like some advice on getting our system integrated with his".

I have the same monthly... the boss always comes up and moans like hell about manageing an issue that we manage about once a month on average but each time it comes up you would think it was the end of the world and no one could even begin to work out how to sort it!

spend more time telling him we can manage than actually doing it!

doh... just read your comment again and its different clients!

but I do periodically have the same problem with the clients who think their situation is unique.

Is there a retirement age for one-man-bands? Johnny G must be about 60 by now.
