"Someone just told me that Oxford University radio-collared a batch of voles on the Avon so they could be tracked up and down the river. When they plotted the results, they found that one of the voles was 10ft above the river travelling quite fast, for a vole. They then spoke to a group of people a bit further up the river, who turned out to be from Bristol University. They's been tagging bats, on the same radio frequency, and had come down to investigate why some of them had apparently gone diving under the riverbank."
