The PDA and the mailing list [Apr. 22nd, 2009|10:29 pm]

On my PDA, the screen is of limited width and email subject lines are often truncated.

The effects are augmented when the subject lines of emails received from certain mailing lists are prepended by text which identifies the list concerned, when even less of the original subject is visible.

I just received an email with (aparently) the following subject:

[Bracknell-Forest-Freecycle] OFFERED: Large bag of assorted girls

Trouble is that all the really good stuff is always already taken by the time I reply...

Not "assorted bag of large girls"? I could manage to provide you with a bag of large girl, if it made you happy....?
