Scared the b'jezuz out of me as a kid. Almost as bad as the standing stones with eyes in Marianne Dreams.

OMG! Is that the story of the invalid kid where the stones got closer every night while (s)he was asleep? Started off as a picture and (s)he had to draw in a bike to escape?

Night-time terrors for me, that.

My Mum was scared by The Owl Service and the whole family, Dad included, were terrorised by The Children of the Stones.

If you're on about the tv version of Marianne Dreams (called Escape Into Night) then I'm in complete agreement. Scariest thing I saw as a kid.
It's just come out on DVD too, I'm not sure if I want to watch it again though as it might not live up to the memory.
