Motherwell Academicals [Aug. 6th, 2009|11:43 pm]

In Scotland.

Good news, everybody!

The copy of Neil Gaiman's "Don't Panic" in our bedroom is a more recent edition than the copy of Neil Gaiman's "Don't Panic" in the bathroom.

Oddly enough I have a first edition copy of Don't Panic ...

Of course it has nothing to do with Neil as I'd never heard of him at the time .. More to do with the fact that I could recite the first radio series by heart at the time ...

Not sure I still could tho ...

Bathroom: 2nd edition (July 1993), first printing -- "Additional material by David K. Dickson".

Bedroom: 3rd edition (June 2002), second printing -- "Additional material by David K. Dickson and MJ Simpson".

My first edition was in my rucksack when I got mugged.

Then I found another in a charity shop this morning, along with a copy of the Simo biography that I lost years ago! (And I also got a copy of 'Little Brother' by Cory Doctorow).

I realised the other day I have a first printing (second publisher) of Guards! Guards that has the very rare cover - at least rare enough I can't find it online anywhere.

Its the Roc version with the girl in the green dress.

I need to check the rest of the Pratchetts to see if we have anymore that are rare.
