The promise of the horror to come [Oct. 31st, 2009|10:32 am]
Douglas Spencer

It's that date.

The date which promises forthcoming horror. Dark and unpleasant things lurk in the shadows, waiting to emerge and trap the unwary. We know the horror is coming, we can only imagine how dreadful it's going to be, and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

Yes, it's 1,000 days until the start of the London Olympics.

When IT happens, let's all hire a holiday cottage on a Scottish island, with no TV, and miss the whole thing.

And confusing 1100 and 1010 would be just like building your new shed shed exactly 2400 mm long, to the nearest couple of mm, and placing a 2440×1220 mm board on top of it...

Hey, I have to live through it here in Walthamstow, East London. And as one of the five olympic boroughs I can tell you as a fact we've seen no regeneration from it.

Think of it as 1000 days until an alien spore that has body-snatched an 8 year old will kidnap all people *attending* the olympics, after which point the Doctor will carry the torch.
