I write like...? [Jul. 13th, 2010|05:27 pm]
Douglas Spencer

Note that, of the four texts below, the third is slash and the fourth is really quite NSFW.

I fed in "Please tell me if I'm odd". It told me I write like Dan Brown.

I fed in the Swine Flu Villanelle. It told me I write like H. P. Lovecraft.

I fed in the Yes Minister slash-sonnet. It told me I write like Charles Dickens.

Finally, I fed in the Ode to Fisting. It told me I write like James Joyce.

If I feed in the text of my EMC stories:
Chapter 1: Chuck Palahniuk
Chapter 2: Stephen King
Chapter 3: P. G. Wodehouse
Chapter 4: Chuck Palahniuk
Chapter 5: Chuck Palahniuk
Chapter 6: Chuck Palahniuk
Chapter 7: Dan Brown

For two Journal Entries, I got "Asimov" and "Douglas Adams." For Bloody Beth, "Johnathan Swift." For Aimee, "Lovecraft." For the Yowlers story "Fortune Cookie," I got Chuck Pahalniuk. And for the Treefort series, I got Dan f'ing Brown.

I had to Google Palahnuik. And I was pleased with all my results with the exception of Dan Brown, whom I could cheerfully have done without.

Wodehouse! I'll take that as a compliment.

I strongly suspect cheap keywording. It's too... simple, the outcomes. Predictable.
