[Current Mood |nauseatedUnwell]

I must disappoint anyone who was hoping to see me at the Tun tonight -- my current state of health (all sorts of URTI gunkiness keeping me awake half the night) and the consequential tiredness mean that trying to go to London tonight is the very opposite of sensible.

Do your best to have a good time despite my absence.

I took advantage of the nighttime wakefulness to listen to some BBC TMS cricket coverage (which until now I'd been timeshifting through the medium of Twitter, many thanks to @clanwilliam, @johncoxon, @paul_cornell, @ecb_cricket and others), which I enjoyed very much.

And GWS from me too.

Actually (cutting and pasting an email I've just sent to HH fishlifter), given the utterly shite weather here in Reading I'll be begging off the Tun tonight too. I'll get soaking wet, it means 6 journeys on public transport, I won't get back here before 11, I'm jet-lagged and have already been up since 2am this morning. And I'd probably fall asleep on the train home and wake up in Swindon, or worse, Bristol.

Hope to see you on the 26th at the BSFA.
